Deccan RubyConf is a single-track conference held annually in Pune. I had the privilege of attending the 2017 edition as a speaker on August 12th.
My Talk: "Give REST a rest, use GraphQL for your next Ruby API"
In my 25-minute session, I discussed why developers should consider GraphQL and how to implement it in Ruby on Rails. It was a great confidence builder to have people approach me afterward to discuss the technology and share their experiences.

Conference Highlights
- Keynote by Tim Riley: Discussed next-gen Ruby web apps with
dry-rb. - Database Power by Harisankar: Leveraging DB features for faster Rails apps.
- Ruby Performance by Aboobacker MK: Insights into the Ruby Garbage Collector.
- Maintainable Rails by Michael Kohl: Strategies for long-term project health.
- Panel Discussion: Featuring Ajey Gore (Go-Jek), Vipul (BigBinary), Gautam Rege (Josh Software), and more on startups and hiring.

The event concluded with flash talks and a final keynote by Ajey Gore on testing principles. It was an inspiring experience to learn from so many contributors and innovators in the Ruby community.
